Clean Energy Local
Electricity runs our lives.
It wakes up before we do. It cools the fridge. It powers the Wi-Fi. It charges the phone. It heats the house in January and keeps it livable in August.

It’s everywhere.
And because it’s everywhere, it fades into the background.
Flip a switch. Done.
That’s the whole relationship.
Until something breaks. Or the bill arrives.
The story of electricity doesn’t start at the outlet.
It starts somewhere else. At a facility, a plant, a turbine, a panel, a reactor. Long before power ever reaches a home.
That starting point matters.
Because how electricity is made connects directly to the air we breathe, the health of our communities, and the carbon footprint we carry without thinking about it.

Clean Energy Local exists to make that part visible.
Not louder. Clearer.
When you understand how energy is made, the whole conversation changes.
Electricity stops feeling abstract. The dots connect.
Why Start With Electricity?
Energy conversations can drift into headlines and debates.
Electricity is concrete.
Before power reaches a home in New York, it is generated somewhere in the state, or brought in from nearby regions. Different sources create different impacts long before a light turns on.
Most of that happens out of sight.
Out of sight tends to mean out of mind.
When the source becomes visible, the connections become obvious.
Electricity becomes the first chapter of a much bigger story. One that includes air quality, health, infrastructure, and everyday carbon footprint.

What Clean Energy Local Is
Clean Energy Local is a New York focused public education platform.
It follows your power along the whole path.
Where it’s made. The poles and wires that carry it. The utility that delivers it. Your home, where you use it. And your bill, where you finally see it.
That’s the path. Generation to grid to home. In plain language, the kind you could explain at the kitchen table.
Once you can see that path, the rest connects:
- How your bill actually works. Supply, delivery, usage, charges.
- How the way your power is made affects the air and your health.
- How all of it shapes your personal carbon footprint.
You’ll also find a structured, growing map of where New York’s power is made. Every kind of source. Fossil fuel, nuclear, and renewable. All of it, pulled together from public data in one place.
The goal is straightforward: help the system make sense.
And once they connect, the system starts to make sense. This space was created to explore ideas, spark curiosity, and share stories that matter. From tech to travel, from thoughts to trends — everything here comes with a point of view. Welcome to the place where inspiration meets intention.

Built for New York
Air quality, electricity poles and wires are local.
Clean Energy Local focuses on New York so the picture feels real rather than invisible.
When the story becomes clear, the broader one becomes easier to understand.
About the Founder
Frank Rosa is the Founder and Educator behind Clean Energy Local.

After decades in energy and sustainability, a serious health event forced him to slow down and ask a harder question:
Why was this so difficult for everyday people to understand?
He realized he had his own gaps. If someone inside the industry had to pause and rethink the fundamentals, clarity might be missing for a lot of people outside of it.
So he started over.
He went back to the basics. How electricity is generated, how it moves, and how it connects to air pollution, health, and personal impact. And he rebuilt the explanation step by step.
In plain language.
The way you’d explain it to a friend at the kitchen table.
Clean Energy Local grew out of that process.
Our Approach
Clarity first. Curiosity before conclusions. Structure over noise.
When people understand how everyday energy shapes the air around them and the systems that power their lives, something shifts.
The volume drops. The confusion eases. The conversation changes.
And that’s where better decisions begin.
I started this blog as a way to make sense of the thoughts constantly spinning in my head — ideas, questions, things I notice in the world. What began as a personal space slowly grew into a place where I could share, connect, and hopefully spark something in others too.
Here, you’ll find a mix of what inspires me: tech, travel, everyday moments, and things that make me think twice. I’m not chasing perfection — just honesty, curiosity, and the joy of creating something real. Thanks for reading and being part of this.
If you’d like to connect, collaborate, or just say hi — we’d love to hear from you.
